Documentation

Release notes, verification steps and operating notes for using DAI Wallet as a desktop self-custody wallet.

Download and verification

  1. Download the build for your operating system from daiwallet.org.
  2. Compare the file's SHA-256 hash with the checksum shown on the home page.
  3. Run the application only when the hash matches exactly.

Checksums are part of the release surface. Do not run a wallet build from a mirror, chat attachment or search-result ad.

Supported networks

The first release targets Ethereum mainnet, Base, Optimism and Arbitrum One. Each supported network uses ETH for gas. Polygon PoS and Gnosis are listed separately because their fee assets are different.

Key handling

DAI Wallet stores seed phrases and private keys in an encrypted local file protected by your passphrase. Back up the seed phrase offline before funding the wallet. Anyone with the seed phrase can move the funds.

Sending DAI

  • Choose the network before entering the recipient address.
  • Keep enough ETH on the selected network to pay gas.
  • Review the confirmation step before signing.
  • Use the address book only for addresses you have already verified.
